The Button-up Collard Shirt - Part 2

The second installation of the reason for each outfit will lead us to the next vital part of the modern suit "of arms."

This post is going to focus on the Button Collard Shirt. This is the main focus of the entire suit and a place where you can either spice up the entire suit, or go classic white and let the rest of the suit work for itself.

The shirt stands for vulnerability, being that it is the base of the suit, the part closest to your heart and the last stop before breaking the suit completely down. The vulnerability of the shirt is the key to the modern suit and the modern chivalrous man. A true modern knight, a modern gentleman, or chivalrous man is based on vulnerability. Vulnerability shows a man’s ability to be real with not only himself but with those around him too. He needs, to be honest with himself as much as he is with others. But he is not fully open with just everyone because he understands boundaries and the importance of boundaries in vulnerability. However, without vulnerability, he cannot build trust and truth, which are the cornerstone features of the modern chivalrous gentlemen.

The shirt, like vulnerability, is unique to the standard of the man. Some shirts are the classic white pure standard and the same goes for the pure white standard of vulnerability. Some shirts hold the creative and deep nature of the floral pattern which is equivalent to that of the creative and deep nature of some vulnerable men. Vulnerable is not a set standard that is the same for everyone operating in it. Vulnerability is subjective to the one displaying it, and often looks different from anyone else's version of vulnerability, because it has to do with the personal core, and every person at their core is so uniquely different that the only other feature so unique in the world is the standard that each individual face is uniquely different from each other and how there is no one else on the earth that holds the exact dimensions of your features.

So the next time you buy a shirt to go with a suit, or think about the type of shirt to where under a suit, know that the more vulnerable you are in life, the easier the flow of expression in shirt becomes. And challenge yourself that if you are having a difficult time finding your "shirt" then you might want to check your levels of vulnerability to see if you can grow deeper in your understanding of self and you might be pleasantly surprised at your ability to find a shirt that makes sense afterwards.
